Oh, Hey Vlad.

Yes, I bet you didn't expect this thing to see the light of day did you. I don't think it would have, were it not for me reaching the end of the internet.

Now, if I remember correctly, the way I ran this little blog was as impersonally as possible - I rarely gave actual information about myself or what was currently going on in my life.

For all you xanga people out there who somehow stumble across this or used to read this but don't keep up with me anymore I'll give you a tiny update.

Since you last left your hero, he was in London, studying abroad. Now he has graduated from college and is working at an audio post production company in Manhattan, He's engaged (sorry stalker internet ladies), and he's reached the end of the internet and is posting on a long-forgotten blog.

Now for the meat of this entry.

There once was a cow
Don't ask me how
He lived to see the day
When all was fair
Without despair
It truly was amay
zing

He left one day
For the milky way
And came to a hole
We should really call
More like a ball
That hadn't a goal
...To suck him in.

Near the edge of the black
The cow faced the fact
That time was not the same
So when he came back to earth
He found a dearth
Of species playing the game.

London?

Welly welly welly, my droogies. I'm in London. How's that for an update? The last time I put anything in this thing was August...that was a long time ago and much has happened since. I had the term from Hell but survived. I made what is pretty much a film I'm proud of (it still needs a ton of work) and a lot of other stuff that I simply don't even feel like talking about anymore since its over (that's the problem with updates that happen so long after the fact)

The real topic of discussion should be the here and now, and right now I am in London, one of the busiest, diverse, and most expensive cities in the world. I'm still in the settling in phase, so I havent any real stories to tell of great journeys, except of course for finding a flat. They gave us 5 days to find housing, which was rather demanding - it felt like a mini bootcamp, especailly because I was searching with five other guys. I haven't hung out with 5 other guys at the same time for that long since I was like 12 - it's definitely an experience.

So, you're wondering, how did it turn out? Well, all in all, not so bad, we are paying more than we want to for a place that had individual doors that lock (why couldnt there just be a lock on the front door?), a shower that either scolds or freezes, a skylight that drips (I really do like the skylight though), and has no outlets along with various other quirks but... the location is amazing - it really feels like london where we live (other places felt more like... well you can ask me about that later)

The only thing here that is cheaper than 'the states' is theater and i'll be seeing a bunch of it here - mostly obscure plays that nobody (well i'm sure some of you) have heard of. It should be interesting. My professors are all a bunch of characters. I'm in stage combat class and I'm not sure if I'll drop it but it was fun last class and its good exercise... not that the 5 thousand stairs and miles that i walk everyday aren't (thats one good thing about city life - its hard to be a bum - at ithaca i would take naps before class, roll outta bed and get there in 2 mins. Here, not so much.

The London Tube. Eeek. It's wonderful...when it works. The line I need (The Circle) was built around the time of the American Civil War and they just haven't gotten it right yet. It literally (as many people joke here) goes around in a circle yet they can't figure out how to make it run on time. I definitely know the transporation better here than I do in Manhattan though, so I guess i'm getting better.

I guess thats the theme in general for the last bunch of years of my life (wow, there's a huge jump from small scale topics to large) - things are getting better but very slowly.

This was a really half-hearted xanga entry. I apologize in advance. I'll be better later, really.

So that was it. That, was it. It may seem that picking up the shattered pieces of my life would be difficult after that, but actually it was relatively easy since they broke in big enough pieces that would make it simple enough to put together with the right glue. That and I got a free penguin out of the deal. How many times does life offer up anyone free penguins? Not much. I'm lucky.

So those pinecones. Yeah. See... the thing is... I was exploring the Amazon, when a terrific thunderstorm began. I had to hide in a cave for shelter. It rained for 5 days. In that time, I carved out the highly pivotal tale of those pinecones on the cave walls, complete with accompanying artwork. By the time the rain stopped, I had created an entire mythology for these pinecones - their back-story, their ancestor's back-story, etc. Although elated with my work, I had to continue my journey through the Amazon. I left a trail of large rocks so that I could find my way back to the cave. After fulfilling my purpose in the Amazon, I followed my trail back. I entered the cave and was shocked to find a Spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus) in my former dwelling. He stared at me with a ferocity I knew only from that scene from some movie where the villain was staring at that guy. The bear approached me and sniffed my backpack. I took it off and threw it to the floor. He opened it greedily and took out the berries I had just picked. I figured they were an appetizer to his main course... me. But instead he stared at me again, got up on his two legs, and said, "Thanks for the berries, mate."

Now, I know what you're thinking... "Why didn’t you go into the cave and recover the now lost tales... the bear was obviously a herbivore." But honestly I never came across a talking bear in my life, and I ran out of there as fast as possible. I don’t care what you say, you would have too.

It has always been my understanding that bears do not talk, nor do they talk with an Australian accent. How this bear got this accent is beyond me. From now on though, I'm going to stay in North America, where bears still don't talk.
